Throughout my entire training as a Master Medical Herbalist I was repeatedly taught how healing always starts with healthy bowels, and, therefore, how important it is to always start any healing process by cleansing the bowels.
First of all, in order to restore wellbeing, it is essential to make sure that toxins are able to leave your body, and this happens mainly through bowel movements.
Then, it is important to understand that intestinal walls play innumerable other roles other than elimination, including hormonal and nervous functions, as well as producing digestive enzymes and absorbing nutrients.
An essential intestinal role that not everyone is aware of is the immune function. The gut wall houses 70% of the cells that make up the immune system. When in optimal conditions, the intestines represent an essential defensive barrier against bacteria and pathogens, since the intestinal immune system encounters more antigen than any other part of the body.
When the colon is compromised or congested (and this can be caused by poor diet, stress, and dehydration) every single organ in the body is affected because an unbalanced bacterial flora can shift the immune system to an inflammatory state. Moreover, nutrients absorption at this stage is compromised as well. You simply cannot be constipated and healthy.
A bowel movement should occur after every meal that is consumed. Typically, there should be 2-3 bowel movements daily.
Whenever you’re feeling unwell, whatever the issue is, the first thing to do should be cleansing your bowels. This explains why, as as I previously mentioned, before any health concern can be addressed, the colon must first be cleansed, and, therefore, why bowel cleansing is at the basis of natural healing.
Bowel cleansing can be done by correcting the diet, managing stress, and through herbal remedies such as my Bowel Cleansing Formula, which is customized to each client’s needs.
